Alibaba Cloud, the data intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, announced the availability of 6th generation Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances. As per a mail by Alibaba Cloud, it provides 300% network throughput increase over 5th generation instances. The 6th generation instance type supports VNNI instruction sets, features X-Dragon architecture and is ideal for deep leaning scenarios.
6th Gen ECS cloud servers are equipped with 2nd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processor. Its Turbo Boost Technology boosts the main frequency to 3.2Ghz, thereby increasing floating computing performance. Due to its architecture, this generation of ECS instance provides 30% reduction in memory latency, 20% improvement in computing power and 70% reduction in storage IO latency.

- 2 to 4 times Deep Learning computing performance.
- Packet loss rate of less than .0001%.
Along with Alibaba’s annual 11.11 global shopping festival, huge discounts are being offered for ECS Cloud servers. One can get up to 90% off on select ECS Cloud servers and up to $300 rebate by purchasing them before 13 November 2019.
Alibaba Cloud also rolled out Intelligent Speech Recognition technology. It will help provide users with an immersive experience via human-computer interaction.
It enables devices to speak, listen and understand users through modern technologies like speech synthesis, speech recognition and natural language understanding. This technology is suitable for:
