What is two-factor authentication?
The identity and access management security technique known as two-factor authentication (2FA) requires two different forms of identification in order to access resources and data.
Users who utilise two-factor authentication can log in using a security key or a code in addition to their password.
Starting on March 20, only Twitter's Blue subscribers will be able to use its message-based two-factor authentication (2FA).

Hence, users who do not have a Twitter Blue membership will either need to pay 900 or utilise an authentication app or security key for 2FA in order to use the two-factor authentication.
Text messages will no longer be accepted as a form of two-factor authentication after March 20, 2023, for all users except Twitter Blue members.
To be clear, two-factor authentication is still optional when logging onto Twitter, though we strongly advise users to do so.
